Knoxville, Tenn., March 22, 2024…Magnum Venus Products (MVP), a global manufacturer of fluid movement and production solutions for industrial applications, is excited to announce its partnership with Elkem to introduce a tailored silicone product for Flex Molding, a silicone vacuum infusion molding technology designed to enhance and accelerate production. MVP is also proud to be the exclusive distributor of the new silicone product in North and South America.
Leveraging MVP’s knowledge of the industry and manufacturing processes, Elkem recently launched BLUESILTM RTV 3724, a sprayable and brushable platinum-cure silicone to produce high-performance, reusable vacuum bags. BLUESILTM RTV 3724 has a 1:1 mix ratio by volume and is uniquely designed to be applied on a vertical surface without sagging. The two silicone components are expertly sprayed using MVP’s Patriot 1:1 Silicone System, which precisely blends and applies the silicone seamlessly.
This collaborative effort aims to optimize silicone membrane construction application, extending its lifespan. “Elkem brings expertise in silicone technology, while MVP excels in machine and process innovation,” said Scott Andrews, MVP Vice President of Commercialization. “By joining forces, it enables us to address our customers’ challenges holistically, incorporating the advancements we have made in the flex molding process.”
Additionally, MVP will serve as the exclusive distributor of BLUESILTM RTV 3724 in North and South America, providing a comprehensive solution that encompasses not only equipment and materials but also extensive training and a full array of accessories essential for the silicone bag vacuum infusion process. Now, manufacturers can benefit from MVP’s expertise and end-to-end solutions, making it the ultimate one-stop-shop for closed mold solutions.
To enhance efficiency, reduce labor costs, and minimize waste, manufacturers have shifted their focus towards reusable silicone vacuum membranes, a departure from traditional infusion methods that require more consumables. MVP has been modernizing closed molding techniques for decades, and this collaborative development with Elkem is a critical step for MVP to continue to lead process improvements. With the launch of Flex Molding in 2010, Fast Flow LRTM in 2020, the SVB Seal in 2022, this unique silicone solution was the next step to unlocking new possibilities in the closed molding space.
