Fiberdome designs, manufactures, engineers, and assembles fiberglass tooling through the frequent use of multiple gel systems, chop, wet out, and adhesive equipment. Located in Wisconsin for more than 50 years, the company provides products and services for clients across the nation.

Requiring a unique solution, Fiberdome approached MVP to reduce the friction to operators caused by cartridges. The cartridges required extensive manual labor, and the results were inconsistent with their current operations.

To develop a solution, the MVP team met with Fiberdome on-site to comprehend the challenges fully. Once the teams were clear on the production problems and desired goals, MVP created a 2:1 meter mix dispensing solution.

A Solution That Provides Numerous Advantages

With this equipment in place, Fiberdome’s production is now more efficient. The operators no longer wrestle with cartridges, saving labor efforts. In fact, the MVP solution reduced the time spent gluing parts by 2-3 minutes – five times faster than the previous approach. The result is improved product stability and consistency and reduced manual handiwork that was required by the previous application. Additionally, this precision contributes to the reduction of material waste, and because the material is purchased in bulk, Fiberdome has improved its bottom line significantly. All of these changes lead to parts with more consistent quality – and thus happy customers.

People and good employees are at the core of Fiberdome, and the unique solution from MVP caters to Fiberdome’s operators and employees through creating a safer, cleaner, and more efficient workspace. “We have a much happier operator and are saving money on material cost, material waste, production time savings,” said Rick Wollin, president of Fiberdome. “Good employees are harder to bring in and maintain, and we were able to help make one of our existing employees’ work environments more enjoyable and safe.”
