Flex Molding Process, Magnum Venus Products’ unique comprehensive system that provides the tools and training necessary to convert an open mold process to closed molding has been steadily gaining in popularity since its introduction in 2010. On August 21-22, 2014, our customers in Australia had the opportunity to learn the details on this process and how to transfer this technology into their operations.
MVP was pleased to partner with our Australian distributor Ducept Pty., and the Composites Australia organization to conduct our comprehensive training course in Braeside, Victoria. 30 people from across Australia, making products from truck trailer panels, tank end domes, truck wind shield, vehicle floor panels and more, spent two days in intensive training that included both classroom theory and hands-on practical training in how to take their production into closed molding.
Magnum Venus Products has designed this training course to be a true transfer of technology between MVP and the customer. It is our goal to give them the tools and knowledge they need, so that by the end of the course they are confident that they can bring this process into their production line.
Using a flexible, membrane is the key to making parts with an undercut that cannot be produced using the rigid counter-molds in traditional Light RTM. With a reusable membrane, you have the benefit of working with an undercut, but it ultimately saves money, time and waste material over the classic infusion bag.
