Infusion is a technique that uses pressure from a vacuum to force resin into a dry laminate. The dry materials are placed into a mold and then a vacuum is applied before adding the resin. Once the vacuum has been achieved, the resin is then introduced and thoroughly pulled through the dry material (or infused).
This process results in less wasted resin, a higher level of consistency in material usage from part-to-part, and makes the part lower in weight while increasing its overall strength by introducing just the right amount of resin and pulling out any excess.
The M.V.P. Infusion Unit features precise, proven metering technology, reliable high-volume flow, Automatic ProGun™ for consistent internal mix delivery, the lowest mix/meter percentage at ± 0.01% and significantly reduced gassing with our unique catalyst pump.
What makes the M.V.P. Catalyst Pump unique? Passivation. Passivation is an additional step in the manufacturing process that purifies and improves the quality and longevity of stainless steel.
Unlike any other infusion system on the market, which mixes the catalyst and resin at the pump, the M.V.P. Infusion Unit does all of the mixing at the automatic ProGun™. There are some significant advantages to mixing at the gun, including a drastic drop in down-time for standard cleaning and maintenance, as well as an increase in part and material savings. There is no need to change the vacuum hose after each part. The ProGun™, using a minimum of solvent (as low as 7 grams), flushes the system clean after each part.
