Powered entirely by pneumatics, the resin detector plugs directly into a universal insert laminated into the mould, close to, or at the final fill point where it will instantly stop the injection when resin finally fills the mould. - The outcome - No more over filled catchpots, or under-filled moulds.
Production engineers out there will say, well that is easy, we could simply place an electronic sensor in the mould and signal the machine to stop once the resin arrives at the fill point. And they are right, but who wants to put delicate electronics and associated power supplies in their workshop or on the mould.
This new sensor provides a purely pneumatic, non sacrificial device which detects the arrival of the resin and signals the injection machine to stop injecting, close the injection port and run a flush cycle.
Similar to, but more sensitive than the MVP Pneumatic PVSensor, the AutoCatch "sees" the resin arriving, and through patented pneumatic logic, signals the machine to shut down and clean its injection head. It also gives an audible warning that the mould is full.
AutoCatch requires just one pneumatic 4 mm supply and this is conveniently available from the mould Turbo Autosprue open signal therefore no additional pipes to connect on the mould.
So what does the AutoCatch provide to the modern closed mould operator? Simply put, there is now no longer any need for programming the mould shot count before initiating injection start. The operator can simply walk away safe in the knowledge that injection, shut down and flush will be completely carried out automatically and without fail once the mould has been filled!
Now the mould can communicate directly with the machine through safe pneumatics.
