M.V.P. Brings on RTM/Infusion Technical Specialist

Kent, WA - Magnum Venus Plastech (M.V.P.) Has Brought On Industry Expert Charles Tur as new RTM/Infusion Technical Specialist

Magnum Venus Plastech is pleased to announce the addition of Composites Industry expert Charles Tur to M.V.P.

After the merger between Magnum Venus and Plastech TT was completed in December 2006, M.V.P. made the decision to expand the capabilities of the new RTM division of Magnum Venus Plastech by inviting Charles to join the M.V.P. team.

Charles Tur began his career in the Composites Industry over 20 years ago, and in that time has built a reputation as an expert in the technology of Resin Transfer Molding and, more recently, Infusion.

In 1984, Charles began teaching students at Team les Galapiats located in Grenoble, France, where the methods that he introduced during that time are still used today. He then transitioned in 1987 and started his own Composites construction company. All Composites Construction, as the company name implies manufactured 50 foot ULDB sailboats using several composites process and materials including vacuum, RTM and more. After five years, Charles decided to sell the company and move in a new direction.

Charles moved into a collaboration with various material supplies in 1992 to learn more about emerging technologies like Infusion, Prestovac, RTM, etc., and to determine the best methods for developing products and setting up operations using the Light RTM process. After six years, Charles made the move to head up the technical support and sales for Chomarat, a French-based company that manufactures glass weaves.

In 2005 Charles decided to strike out on his own and become an independent consultant available to train designers, mold makers and production personnel in the process of closed mold production. His services included technical follow-up, initial feasibility studies, methods for optimizing production, training and more.

Charles has now taken on the challenge of the M.V.P. RTM/Infusion Technical Specialist. Bringing his years of knowledge and experience, and having trained with Alan Harper on the Plastech RTM systems and their RTM and tooling training processes, Charles now presents the Light RTM tooling workshops, held at the Plastech facility in the United Kingdom and throughout the international markets. These workshops focus on the precision and accuracy needed to produce a Light RTM mold from preparation of the master pattern, through to the commissioning of the mold.
