Magnum Venus Products Announces New Patent

Kent, WA - FIT (Fluid Impingement Technology) Receives Exclusive U.S. Patent

Magnum  Venus Products announced today that the United States Patent & Trademark  Office has granted the exclusive U.S. patent for FIT® (Fluid Impingement  Technology). In an effort to anticipate the changing emissions control  standards, the M.V.P. Advanced Design Group developed the patented FIT line of  products. Fluid Impingement Technology reduces emissions levels to new lows,  exceeding EPA requirements.

Equipment  design for the FRP industry has been focused on meeting the strict emissions  standards set by the government. With F.I.T., those standards have been met.

From the new low-pressure Powerhead/Fluid Section to  the new gun and nozzle designs, M.V.P. removed all of the obstacles to  low-pressure operation with FIT.

FIT works at power ratios of only 3:1 or 6:1,  eliminating spray atomization. Systems with power ratios over 11:1 will produce  high levels of atomization, essentially changing the system from impinge to  atomized spray. During testing, tip fluid pressures as low as 15 psi were  recorded using the Cipher Gun. These low pressures have many benefits to the  manufacturer.

One benefit: Lower styrene emissions. Government  Environmental agencies around the world are constantly re-evaluating the EPA  standards and allowable styrene emissions levels for FRP manufacturers. Many  are told to lower their emissions or cease operations until they can. In an  effort to meet the ever-changing standards, manufacturers turn to new  technology for the answer. FIT has been proven to be that answer. Several  independent tests have shown that FIT has the lowest emissions in the industry.

Another benefit to the FIT systems is a substantial  material and time savings for the manufacturer. With the lower pressures there  is less resin used, a reduced amount of waste material and faster clean-up.        And, more immediate to the operator, is the benefit of  the new ergonomically designed Cipher and Maximus Guns with FIT tips.

Delivering maximum quality and efficiency, the Cipher  and Maximus Hydraulic Assist designs are the most unique in our line of  chop-and-spray guns. Their innovative design also reflects a crucial fact:  people operate the equipment. Increasingly strict regulations point to the  importance of human and environmental factors in manufacturing. With these  issues in mind, the Cipher and Maximus were developed. At M.V.P., operator and  environmental safety are as essential to our formula for success as first-class  engineering.

"The Cipher gun offers the same benefits of airless, internal  mixing", said Vice-President of new Product Development Tom Hedger, "while the  Maximus Gun utilizes the same design concept, with larger porting and  straight-through material for filled resins applications". Both the Cipher and  Maximus are over a pound lighter than any other gun on the market, reducing the  potential for straining hand and arm muscles when chopping or spraying. With a  reduced gun head weight, balanced design handle and trigger, the weight of the  gun is further back over the hand for an ergonomic difference.

The Cipher and Maximus guns are the first to  incorporate Rapid Access Design (R.A.D.) allowing for quick replacement of gun  seals. In addition, the simplified design has fewer parts than any other gun in  the industry, keeping maintenance costs to a minimum. They were also designed  to be the most ergonomically comfortable guns on the market, making them truly  "operator friendly". Overall, incorporating a FIT system into your FRP  manufacturing process will reap many rewards for the manufacturer. M.V.P. has  the right FIT for your process.
